HFCS is a highly sweet, gloppy syrup, produced from surplus corn, that is also incredibly cheap.   HFCS is two-thirds the price of sugar! It provides that “just baked” sheen on bread and cakes, makes everything sweeter, and extends shelf life from days to years. HFCS is pumped into every conceivable processed food for maximum palatability. High-fructose intake = increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, and extra belly fat too. HFCS causes in our brain a powerful “leptin-induced” biochemical drive to keep eating. Leptin is a hormone secreted by fat cells. Fructose make the brain “leptin resistant” so the brain can’t tell how much fat it has stored for a rainy day!

A 2012 UCLA study (published in the Journal of Physiology) revealed that eating HFCS containing foods affects the normal appetite signaling system. Appetite-regulating hormones, like Leptin, aren’t triggered (but ‘fat triggers are) and you’re left feeling unsatisfied, hungry and ready to binge eating…. The Food Industry is deliberately Making you Fat

We are all well aware of the health and dietary pitfalls of junk food. So why  does it remain so popular? What makes tens of millions of people consume it daily? The Paradox of Low Fat Food and High Fat People

The fact is, we are eating “low fat” foods but not losing weight. Don’t be fooled by the clever marketing of these “low fat” products attempting to cash in on the latest diet craze. The food industry promotes many products based on a single item (low fat, light) despite other unhealthy aspects. For example, ‘low-fat’ and “’light,’ often don’t tell you the whole story. These products may be high in fat if you check the serving size (some manufacturers use ridiculously small serving sizes). And Low fat usually means incredibly high sugar! Just because the label says “fat free” doesn’t mean it is “calorie free” or doesn’t contain a shocking amount of sugar (or toxic artificial sweeteners).

Recent studies prove that low-fat diets promote metabolic disease, including obesity and heart disease. If you’ve been cutting out the fat from your diet, it may be time to reconsider…

Don’t believe the claims on the front of the package

Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because the claims on the front of the product (low fat, low cal, light), or the name on the label (Skinny cow, weight Watchers, etc) sounds like “it is good for weight loss” the food is low in sugar. Most low fat foods are, yes,you guessed it“, Fat Triggers! and Fat triggers = Weight gain. For example, there is 18.21 grams of sugar in a 2.2 ozWeight Watchers Blueberry Muffin or Double Chocolate Muffin (keep in mind that 4 grams sugar = 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar) so there’s more than 4.5 teaspoons of sugar in one little “low fat” muffin. Nesquick Fat Free Chocolate Milk: 16 ounces = 56 grams sugar. With 14 teaspoons of sugar in one 16 ounce bottle, it will put you over your limit for the whole day.

Now, two brand names perceived as “healthy” with a sugar-loaded products: V8 Fusion Vegetable Fruit 100% juice (different varieties) 8 ounces = 26 grams sugar;  Newman’s Own Tomato & Basil spaghetti sauce is another sugar shocker, 1/2 cup = 12 grams sugar,3 teaspoons of sugar in half cup of spaghetti sauce!!!

12 Commercially Processed Foods and genetically-manipulated Foods that are ‘Making you FAT’…

1. Processed Foods full of ‘additives’, ‘high fructose corn syrup’, sugar and ‘MSG’ (fat triggers) have been linked to weight gain and obesity but are still marketed as “healthy”. Additionally, product labeling may hide other fat triggers such as GM (genetically modified), and glutamic acid other name for MSG (monosodium Glutomate).

A recent study published in Nature suggests that emulsifiers such as carrageenan, lecithin, xanthan gum, polysorbate-80, and polyglycerols, among others (added to factory-produced foods to improve texture, keep ingredients from separating and extend their shelf life) are the culprits that are wreaking digestive havoc. Emulsifiers are approved for use by the FDA.

2. Eat NO WheatSounds like a draconian commandment but modern wheat is a Frankenfood.  Back in the 1950s, scientists began cross-breeding wheat to make it hardier, shorter, and better-growing. This introduced some compounds to wheat that aren’t entirely human friendly. These enhanced methods allow a plant to resist persistent herbicides. The technique is called “chemical mutagenesis” and might be worse than GMO engineering.

There are also studies showing that when compared to the older varieties, modern wheat may cause increased cholesterol levels and inflammation in our body and can have a similar glycemic index as white bread.

Buy breads made from Coconut flour, Blanched almond flour, Sunflower seed flour, Tapioca flour, Arrowroot flour, Green banana flour, etc. Choose sprouted grain breads and cereals made from a a variety of grains and legumes, such as quinoa, oat, barley, millet and even lentils. 4. Refined oils, rancid oils or denatured oils, are toxic to the body and difficult to break down consequently, they are fat triggers that lead to weight gain.
